What's included

  • Suppliers: 20 records and 4 fields. One fictional grower or supplier.
  • Receipts: 300 records and 7 fields. One weighed crop receipt.
  • Payments: 240 records and 4 fields. One payment assigned to a crop receipt.

Recommended analysis

  • How do weighted purchase prices vary by crop and grade?
  • Which suppliers have unpaid received goods?
  • How does grade mix affect an overall price comparison?
  • How much cash was paid by September 30?

How to work with the data

Use the following relationships to connect the source tables:

  • Receipts.supplier_id → Suppliers.supplier_id
  • Payments.receipt_id → Receipts.receipt_id

Check the row grain before joining. Aggregate repeated child records to the required level before combining totals, so parent amounts are not counted more than once.

You can explore the workbook in Excel or Jolene.pro, or use the CSV files with SQL, Power BI and other analysis tools.

Definitions and assumptions

  • Use quantity-weighted unit prices within comparable crops and grades.
  • Receipt value = kilograms × USD/kg. No moisture adjustments, tax splits or delivery deductions are modeled.

Use the field definitions and nullable-column guidance in the included data dictionary. Interpret blank values and reporting dates according to the scenario notes.
